I see you:
you are with your friend chatting aways.
You and your friend
are sitting together in the brown sofa.
You seemed engaged in the conversation
while your friend is drinking his cup of drip coffee.
He’s trying his best
to stay onto the conversation
with you but his phone is going off,
every few minutes.
You continue to engage the conversation
until the waitress brings you
and him your waffles with strawberries.
You took your plate
and ate them instantly while he’s still on his phone.
You were beyond disappointed at him:
today was supposed to be about each other;
not you, him and the phone.
Quietly you ate,
and left your plate by the table with the lamp.
You pulled out your iPhone 15
and went onto your Amazon account
to check if your packages have arrived to your house,
and to use that as an excuse to leave.
The beautiful Calvin Klein black turtle neck you have on
shows your dark and lonely mood.
For a few minutes,
you and him were on your phones,
yet you both known each other since 2017.
This is the first time you both appeared as strangers.
Its ironic because you both arrived as best friends
and left as strangers
not looking at each other at all.
